Medical Internship In Peru- 4 weeks to 12 weeks long

This medical internship in Peru is in a public medical clinic, birthing center or health care project in Cusco. If you are studying to become a doctor, nurse, midwife, obstetrician or physiotherapist, this medical internship in Peru will give you working experience unlike any you’ve gained so far. The contrast between Western medical facilities and practice and those of the developing world is huge. 

You will get an opportunity to shadow doctors and nurses, observe activities and working methods and so get an idea of the Peruvian healthcare system.In this internship , you will rotate in the different departments of the clinic. You will get the chance to work in Maternity, Odontologia, Psychology, Obstetrician, Laboratorium and more. Depending on your experience and your Spanish level, you will be assisting the doctors in their daily work in the clinic. You can do your internship year round. 
 

You can join this internship for a min of 4 weeks upto 24 weeks. 

During the time you will be on this placement you will work in a local medical clinic. Some of your day to day activities will include:

●Observe the clinic: its activities and
working methods
● Shadow doctors and nurses
● Support in administrative work
● Support the doctors and/ or Nurses
● Make recommendations about the
patients
● Support in health campaigns: visit
the camps and give vaccinations
(optional)

We will provide you with accommodation with a homestay family during the duration and all meals will be included.

We would prefer you have Spanish speaking skills or can learn Spanish before you start this project.
